Barbados has a wonderful array of carnivals, street fairs, sporting events,music and cultural festivals throughout the year.  Many of the cultural events bring tourists from around the world in addition to internationally acclaimed artists and local talent.

FEBRUARY

Holetown Festival celebrates Barbadian history and culture through art, music, food, dance, and drama. This week long festival takes place in Holetown.

Oistins Fish Festival celebrates the signing of the Charter of Barbados and the Barbadian fisher folks in a week long event of live music, street parties, and cultural entertainment.

APRIL

Barbados Reggae Festival is a 3 day long celebration of International and Regional reggae musicians.

MAY

Celtic Festival is a two week celebration of Celtic heritage in Barbados with folk dancing, highland games, and Celtic choir singing.

CROP OVER FESTIVAL
JULY – AUGUST

Crop Over Festival is a 12 week celebration of Barbadian culture. The festival ends with Kadooment, a carnival street party.

BARBADOS FOOD & WINE & RUM FESTIVAL
NOVEMBER

Barbados Food & Wine & Rum Festival is a four day festival with seminars on cooking, wine, and rum. There are also gourmet evenings that include culinary tours and parties.

SPORTING EVENTS

SANDY LANE GOLD CUP
MARCH

This is the most prestigious horse race in the region with horses and spectators coming in from around the world . This race is open to horses aged three or older and is run over a distance of 1,800 metres.  Expect live music, a parade and high quality horse racing.

MOUNT GAY REGATTA
MAY

Mount Gay Regatta is hosted by the Barbados Sailing Association and is a four day event with racing the whole family can enjoy.

SOL BARBADOS RALLY
MAY – JUNE

Sol Barbados Rally is organized by the Barbados Rally Club. This two day race car event is action packed for any race car enthusiast.

SIR GARFIELD SOBERS GOLF FESTIVAL
APRIL

Sir Garfield Sobers Golf Festival is one of the biggest golfing events in Barbados. This three day golf tournament attracts players from all over the world.

POLO IN BARBADOS
DECEMBER – APRIL

The Barbados polo season runs for five months and has matches and tournaments during the weekdays and weekends. All spectators are welcome to watch a match at the world-class polo venues around the island.

Banks International Hockey Festival is one of the largest field hockey tournaments in the region. The week long festival has competitive men, women, veterans and mixed teams competing from around the world.
